I ran across this quote from Havilah Babcock. If you have not read his books it is worth a trip to the Library. He was an English Professor at USC when I was there and I have always regretted not taking one of his classes.
But whatever its ups and downs, being a boy is something I’d like to try again, especially being a country boy. It ought to be against the law to let a boy grow up in the city. Havilah Babcock, Jaybirds Go to Hell on Friday, 1964.
I did not appreciate it at the time, but now realize I was fortunate to have been a country boy. I suspect most of you on here were too

I was raised in the city but spent most every summer in the country.

I am as Country as Corn Flakes! I grew up in the Country and would love to Do It Again! I now live in the City of Santee with a Lot of City Slickers from New York City.
Very nice
Great quote! I was fortunate enough to grow up in the country and I still reside in the country. I wouldn't have it any other way!
Hooking up every chance I get!
I used to live in the country, but the city is moving out to us. They cut every tree over 3 inches across the creek bank last week. It was very depressing when the kids and I walked down there over the weekend.
Who wore shoes in the summer? I will try to find this book, sounds like a good read!!
