About 7-8 years ago I was nightstalking on Lake Wylie. I got set up near a brushpile that Rango and I had placed a couple of months before. I saw one of my rodtips plunge toward the water and set the hook. By the fight I thought I had a catfish on but just as it came to the surface it rolled under my light and I saw a huge silver flash that looked like the bumper on a '57 Buick. Got it netted and it was 16.5 inches and 2lb 7oz. A few minutes later the scene was repeated and I landed a 2lb 5oz'er. Those are the 2 biggest I ever caught and since I used to fish mostly with Rango they were the 2 biggest I ever saw
I put them on ice and wanted to get a pic of me holding them the next morning before cleaning them but the only person home to operate the camera was my 5 year old daughter. She cut my head out of the pic and it was out of focus.
One taste of the bait
is worth the pain of the hook
