Hello, I just got a new Humminbird 597 and could use some guidance as to these pictures.
Picture #1, I believe shows some fish on the left around structure though I'm not sure what type of fish these are:

Picture#2, Is that a christmas tree on the left, with a bait school on the right?

I'll have more later. I appreciate any input as to what you believe is in the pictures. Thanks!
Picture #1-could be some fish beside the brush, could be limbs off the brush.
Picture #2-the ball on the rt definitely bait, the ball on the left structure or possibly another bait ball. As far as telling what kind of tree? Dont think the graph can do that for ya.
Ya picture 2 is a nice shot of bait ball.
Okay, here another image I would like ya'lls thoughs on. I'm trying to learn to decipher these images off of my new unit. Now quite sure what the tall image is, nor the fish around it.Thanks for any info!

My buddy has a Lowarnce HDS-7 DF. I have HBs so I am not familiar with the ins and outs of Lowrance DFs. This is the image we got in Clouds Creek today. I could not get rid of the blue mass from 10 to 17 ft. I tried adjusting sensitivity, noise filter, palette colors, 200 and 84 HZ, and I could not clear up the screen so you could maybe see fish instead of the almost solid mass of blue shown. Any ideas on what this is showing and how to get rid of it? It stayed that way the entire morning, no matter the depth, which ranged from 9 ft to 25 ft. Thanks guys. Oh yeah, the water had a heavy stain to it.
Nope...never seen one looking like that so I cant help. Sorry! I'd call a Lowrance service rep (at Lowrance) and see what they suggest.
SeaRay,
try turning the surface clarity from low to medium or high to see if that works for you!!!!!
Thanks Joe. I tried that also, but it did not help. . Anything else anyone can think of?? I wondered if the fact that the water was really stained would cause that. It did not look all that muddy, but when we filled the live well it was so stained you could not see fish in it and his boat is white fiberglass so the inside of the live well was white. (Alright, no wisecracks about them being too small to see!)nonono
Ray my unit was showing the same thing a few weeks ago. I just have to remember how I changed it and I'll let you know.
