    Default new boat

i just bought a new to me bass boat. it is equipped with a hummingbird 798 ci hd with side imaging and gps at the console. and hummingbird 571 hd down imaging at the trolling motor. I have crappie fished most of my life but new to the depth finder world. I just want to find the structure and the shad. if I find that the fish will be there. anybody have these units? they good units?

You can go to youtube and find out how to use and setup these units. You can also watch how side imaging is used and how down imaging is used. Other than watching these practice while out on the water is the best thing of all. Try different setting and if you ever think you messed something up just go to your settings and go back to factory default. I love my Humminbirds and you will to when you learn to use them. Good luck with the new boat and I will be looking forward to seeing your fishing reports and pictures.
Be safe and good luck fishing

The 571 is a stand alone unit and cannot be linked or Ethernet-ed to any other unit ...

The 798 and 571 have been very reliable units for several users thru the years ...

The 798 has 2d, blended DI from SI, SI, and GPS ...

The 571 DI has 2d, and dedicated DI ...

The dedicated DI from the 571 will give you good comparison to the things you see on the 2d images ...

The SI from the 798 will help you find things in your waters that you never knew where there ...

Use the SD Card slot feature in the 798 to gather screenshots of things you find interesting to share ...

Enabled the Screenshot feature under the Accessories tab in the Main Menu System ...

Press the "Mark" button on the unit face to capture a Screenshot on the SD Card ...

Note: A waypoint will also be created in the unit memory at the same time the screenshot is saved to the SD Card ...

Looks like it has one sd card in it and a spot for another one, that's empty.

The 798 has dual card slots so that you can have a mapping card in one slot and a blank SD Card in the other slot for capturing snapshots and recordings ...

What is the SD Card that is in the unit now ...??

Sorry for the delay Rickie. I didn't see that you replied. The card in the left side says navionics.
