Do you know if this means that you can chirp thru a standard 2d sonar transducer like the US2 in a terrova? Or does "Generic" mean a non HB chirp only transducer? I was under the impression that Onix processed 2D sonar from the Onix transducer differently than non Onix, but I could be mistaken. (I often am). Also, I am able to use the US2 transducer with the Onix, so maybe the processing technology is the same for both transducers.

Am glad HB did this upgrade, but I still haven't seen any web based screen shots or videos of "chirped" 2D images that are close to the quality of an Onix DI image for the same spot.

Unfortunately, I wont be able to use my Onix until early May, but in the interim, am looking forward to seeing what others are experiencing with the Onix chirp & other elements in the 2.7 Onix update.
I'm not sure about which transducers can be used. I used the chirp today with the stock transducer. I've got a lot to learn. So far, the fixed frequency out performed the actual chirping for me today. I've got some pictures to post and a short video. That I'll post later.
