Default got to admit, it's fun, Garmin 840

Cut to the chase, I got my long non-working Garmin 840 back. (FYI Garmin sent me a refurbed one, I''m assuming it's not the exact one I sent in but I didn't check the serial numbers) (they did get it back to me quickly)

    But I digress,

Back to the fun, I got the 840 out today to see if it was indeed working. I couldn't find crappie so I went perch fishing. I was using a spoon with 3 flys (small flys, one inch, 2 inches) I tied above them.
THe 840 was showing the spoon and 3 flys above clearly as I jigged it. Very cool. very clear with the chirp ducer.
Will it help me catch fish? I don't know but if I can't it's my fault, not the Garmin.

Well, I'm going out to test the unit AGAIN. Yesterday the menu button refused to do anything. Man, I'd like to get my money back. If its not working again, then I'll call and tell them I have a lemon and demand an entirely new unit, not a refurb. Or a touch screen unit.

I am very unhappy with the performance of my 7608. They offered a replacement if I sent my unit and transducer back. (they sent UPS shipping labels)

I really dont want another and would prefer a refund. Did you ask for a refund and have any luck? If not I will hopefully receive new units and I can resell them at a big loss.

No, I didn't ask for a refund. I assume that's not going to happen. Perhaps an exchange for a different unit.
At any rate, I just called Garmin and they're sending a brand new unit, with new 2 yr warranty, and shipping label. If I'm still not happy after that, then I'll ask for a new unit, different model.

I called Garmin today also. No dice on a refund. I got shipping tags and mailed off the unit and two transducers. They said I will get new back in exchange. I will sell them at a loss and be done with it.

    I may do the same,
I hate to take a big loss on it.
