EZFISHN is correct ... it's the bounce of the boat/transducer creating the wavy image lines. Don't matter what size boat, if it's bouncing up & down it is changing the distance the sonar ping has to go, from the transducer to the bottom or any obstructions between them.
I have a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI unit, trolling motor mounted, and see the "waves" in my images anytime I'm in choppy water. Such as in this instance, when I was downscanning a brushpile :
The only "solution" to this is to scan in calm waters ... otherwise, the nature of the way a downscan/2d unit works is going to produce the wavy images.
