The Simulator is a recording that is hard coded into the unit...(most recorded by Doug V himself)...

I doubt HB actually made a new Simulator recording to go along with the washout fix...

Hmmm ... I wonder if Doug made the Simulator recordings in 455kHz or 800kHz...

Thanks for the input. I figured it was hard coded but had no idea what parameters were used in the recording. I am in the process of moving but might take today off to get on the water just to check it out.

The 899 is what I have on my mind to put on my console now that I've somewhat figured out how to get a decent image on the 798. Thanks for posting all of this. I may hold up a few months and see if HB gets this straightend out. I normally don't fish the fall or winter anyway so it won't hurt me to wait.

Had my unit out on the water today in the kayak. I must say I am impressed. I didn't have time to fine tune it as I am in process of moving but it was just eating at me to test it out. The images are all at default using the 800 kHz. Probably can't get back on water for another week after the move is final. But the white out problem is gone.

    Regards
