    Got my 899 back today from Humminbird. They were supposed to fix the wash out problem with the 800 kHz. Well in simulator mode it is still same. But guess I need to get it on the water to check real world.

    The Simulator is a recording that is hard coded into the unit...(most recorded by Doug V himself)...

    I doubt HB actually made a new Simulator recording to go along with the washout fix...

    Hmmm ... I wonder if Doug made the Simulator recordings in 455kHz or 800kHz...

    Thanks for the input. I figured it was hard coded but had no idea what parameters were used in the recording. I am in the process of moving but might take today off to get on the water just to check it out.
