    Than if you had di only ,with cusor could you tell which side of boat object is on,i know you can with si by flipping it to si but just wandering about di and cusor

    I'm pretty sure this is correct Vic...(although I've never checked this for myself...I never change this setting from default "True North")...

    I'm not sure I understand your question Gene...

    Are you asking if left or right can be determined in a dedicated DI unit...??

    Or are you asking if the "Active Cursor Position" can determine left or right in a DI image...??

    No...because DI is still 1 beam...and sonar does not know direction...it only knows time...

    Activating the cursor on a DI image only assigns position as coordinates (lat, lon) to the GPS antenna position ...not the position (left, right, forward, aft)...of structure that is under the water...
