Ive been thinking it over and see kosmo has his ducers tilted , I think im going to off set mine a little and see what kind of pix I can get , im sure he has tried different angles and found what looks the best maybe my next outing i'll see what happens .

In order for the beam of the SI piezo to be pointing straight down ...the HDSI xducer needs to be tilted 60°...

You will also need a HB Dual Beam 200kHz/83kHz xducer and the AS SIDB Y cable for the system to be able to obtain depth...(because the 2d piezo will be pointing also 60° from vertical)...

The digital depth is used is the processing of the SI image...so it's important that the setup gets accurate depth readings..(from an additional 2d xducer)...

You can use any HB xducer that is capable of 200kHz/83kHz ...because the pin configuration in the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable will only connect the 2d piezo...

Keep in mind by rotating your transducer you will no longer have si unless you have upto 3 more si units connected by ethernet.4 si units connected by ethernet with 1 having the rotated transducer with 3 units with the stock si transducer will all be able to share dedicated di and di from si and si on all 4 units

Rickie ive got a 2d trans already being used on this unit for higher speed but with a switch not the AS SIDB Y cable , now with what kosmo says about the 3 other units being needed , Im going to have to skip this idea , 3 more units I'd rather buy a bigger boat lol. Thanks again for all the info. Thanks for the detailed drawing of how the ducer works.

Oh I noticed you using the lower range setting , I leave mine in auto , should I play with the setting to get better images.

sorry,im not very good explaining.you only need one unit to do what your wanting.. You can connect up to 4 units via ethernet that would all share the rotated transducer

You can manually ajust the upper and lower settings or leave them in auto. Works on the 2d also

Like kosmo said ...you only need 1 unit to use the DI xducer...(but without a switch only 1 xducer can be connected at a time)...

The TS3 switch allows the use of the stock HDSI xducer and a separate DI xducer and just switch between the 2 xducer's ...depending on which view you want to see...

The 5port Ethernet switch like kosmo uses allows him to connect the HDSI xducer, a DI xducer, and the rotated 60° xducer (and 2 separate SI units)...and not have to switch cables around to use any of the 3 separate xducer's...on either of his 2 separate units...
