you just seem to get better results than me and likely most owners from what I've read.
How do you think the stake beds would look on the outside of the box or on a brochure.
I'll tell you how, they'd look. So sharp you could get a splinter just scanning them.

As someone mentioned earlierthe water you are in has ALOT to do with it. I have a local electric only lake that the county spends alot of time improving and fertilizes it. There are times when any brand or model is useless.

My main lake seems different every day and times of year. Water is fairly clear but after a rain shows cloudy on the ff. With the thermocline now it is difficult to see in deep water.

The people getting these great pics just may be in the "perfect" water.

Images from my 898c si were not bad. Def better than the Dragonfly as far as showing fish.

i agree with you that the dedicated Di gets much better results but i disagree about there being any false advertising .Im just showing pictures of results Im getting with the Di from si.the pictures are showing the what i see on my 998s every time i scan.i run 200hz on 2d and 455khz on Di.if i see it on 2d i see it Di.here's some old car tires laying on the bottom i have no problem seeing them. These tires are on ky..Lake but I've scanned them over on barley to an other places on ky. . sa.me results but i agree i could get better images from the hds (there,s fish some fish suspended just above some of those tires. Those fish are not more than a foot above those tires)
