Looking for a new finder

Looking for some help. I just bought a HB 597ci hd di a couple of months ago. And I must say that I have been impressed with the way the unit has worked for me thus far. So I have decided to move this unit to the bow where I spend most of my time. It will be replacing an old 535 unit that is black and white. My ? Is what would be the best thing to replace the 597 with at the console? I have been looking at the HB 798ci si side-imaging unit. If anyone has this unit please let me know what you think about the unit how it works for you and the screen size when in SI mode. Any help would be appreciated

I have a 798HD on the bow and I really like it, but the screen isn't big enough for SI on the console. I had a 797 on the console for a few years then switched to an 8 inch screen I couldn't believe all the stuff I was missing. I use the SI on the bow very little so the small screen isn't to big of an issue. I would suggest moving the 597 to the bow and instead of a 798 saving up a while longer and get a bigger screen for the console if your wanting to do a lot of Side Imaging.

Hey Greenwing thanks some much for the input. I have though about the bigger screen option myself. What would be the next best thing the 898 or the 998?

Greenwing makes valid points about the 5 inch screen being difficult for SI viewing...

A few things that can help with the small screen ...

*Set the SI to one side only...this, in effect, zooms the image of the viewed side for better deciphering of things in the SI image...

*Freeze the screen with the 4way cursor, move the crosshairs over a point of interest, press the "+" button on the unit face to open a "Zoom box"..(pressing "+" several times zooms the box several times)...
