i found some more shallow water pictures that i think are kind of kool to look at![]()
As usual I'm missing the point? Really? I guess I'm more of a details guy. I'm trying to find things like stakes, pvc, mats, things that are put out in such a way that they are harder to find. I realize how advanced you are compared to me, so I now when I say limiting the distance gives the best results and a clear image, I'm probably wrong and missing the point.
For a detailed guy, Mike sure misses the point a lot.

You two are peas in a pod. I'd love to see you scanning 80-90ft per side on a 700.
stymie, your correct in what your saying,i also run unit out farther.usaully around 90 to 100ft.im not to interested in the detail unless im wanting to take pictures to post on the internet.just like di ,i just take those pictures for others to luck at, they dont help me but they look kool
If someone asks if SI is worth it, and doesn't specify the unit, I think it's only fair to discuss the media across the spectrum of units. In the HB they range from a 598 to 1198, and HDS is from 5 to 12 touch. What works well for distance settings on one unit, may not work well on another. I know this for a fact because I have owned a 700 series HB. I've owned/witnessed larger screen units. 80+ ft per side may be fine on a large screen unit, but it's going to be harder to interpret on a smaller screen. That's just a fact. I'm not trying to kill any thread or continue your pissing match. I enjoy crappie.com kosmo, if you want to be banned that bad, just ask Slab. He'll do it for you.![]()
