Certainly your third year you should see flowers set. I've noticed with Persimmon trees much like Citrus trees if no fruit the tree grows very fast. I removed all the fruit from 2 Owari Satsuma trees and one Persian Lime tree for 3 years and the trunks of the trees really thickened up well also all 3 produced heavy branch structure. Now I realize the importance of letting the tree grow a few years before allowing it to fruit. I found a video that had other non-astringent Persimmon varieties last night. I cut back the one tree I have last year and it produced more than ever this year.
