You can keep them cool a number of different ways, but none of that matters when they go from 50* water to 90* water.

I use a Frabill Min-O-Life 8qt to transport from the bait shop to the lake. I gradually temper the water in the cooler with the lake water, then dump them into the on-board bait well.
Do not think this is the best but I sure like em. Plasti Kool, #C-10, 10 QT-Cap., Made in USA by Plastilite Corporation, Omaha, NB. $12.89 before tax.
I like the metal/wire cage around it and wire handle, styrefoam is a little thicker than some of the others. How many times have you grabbed one of the cheaper ones by the rim and had it bust out on ya? I apologize for picture quality.![]()
The best bucket is a empty one and a cooler fill of slabs.
i jusy use a cooler myself
Just thought I would share.. my new minnow hut![]()
After purchase if one has a said air source such as the frabill or cool master aerator how long will the minnows last? I picked a few dozen up tonight and am hoping they are still lively by morning. I have the cool bubbles bucket and aerator.
This is the best airator money can buy.

I use a foam liner that fits inside a 5 gallon bucket and the airator above. 100 degree days and I lose only 1 or two minnows an hour. No ice, no water changes, just the cooler and mino-mizer.
