Dang man--only 3 dozen--heck i have to get 6 dozen just for me and at least 10 if Donnie is with me (12 is much better) :)

Be aware that almost all of the styrofoam containers will seep water; so be careful of what you set them on. They will also gradually lose the water you have your minnows in that way; so also be sure to check the water levels inside from time to time.

I carry a colapsable dog water bowl and use it to fill up the minnow bucket with lake water.
I yseperate the styrofoam cooler from teh bucket after each trip to dry the water trapped between the two.

I think the 3rd page of this thread has an idea of a Styrofoam minnow bucket in a 5 gallon plastic bucket, I made one and it's the way to go. Large foot print so it doesn't spill, I cut a notch in the Styrofoam bucket and lid and put the hose for a battery powered bubblier, then cut a small bit of the rolled edge off the top of the plastic bucket and hang it there. I put expanding foam all around the bucket before I put the minnow bucket in it. Only draw back I see is when I dump minnows there is water between the buckets but I just leave it upside down to drain and dry when I'm done. Between the insulated bucket and an occasional bit of ice when it's hot and I've kept minnows for a couple days in this hot summer. Good idea and cheap, what more can you ask for?

CrappieKid, the Longer Life Bait Kit is what I use with a Rubbermaid 3 gallon cooler. Works great for me! Just put a strap around the cooler to hang the aerator on and trim the hose to fit.

5 gallon bucket insert that cost 4.50 ( get your own bucket) get a cool bubble rig . Will work in 95 degree weather for at least 6 hrs . Thats as long as i go in that heat !

Most sports buckets, it's about 7 gallon. The insert will fit most 5 gallon buckets. Some may need trimmed to fit. I use to get them free, wish I knew where now. The bucket lid from academy sports. On sale for .99 last time I bought them.

I like the metal/wire cage around it and wire handle, styrefoam is a little thicker than some of the others. How many times have you grabbed one of the cheaper ones by the rim and had it bust out on ya? I apologize for picture quality.Attachment 86623Attachment 86624

I got 4 of the foam part of the bucket at a warehouse carport sale, 2 bucks each. They fit lose in a 5 gallon bucket.

Frabill kool keeper works for me.
