May 15-17 and it's already on my calendar.
What lake is this on and any motels or cabins near there? Looking to get to a couple more next year.
Its on Lake Shelbyville at Eagle Creek Campgrounds. There is plenty of motels, cabins and campgrounds to stay at and we will be posting tnem again when we start planning the camp this year, usually after the first of the year. The date for the camp is as formention, always between Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekends. I and the other committee member would love to have you all come on up to our camp. Its a great time with lots of great raffle prizes, O lets not forget about the food and the band too. Its a great time for sure.
We're gonna try to make this one!
someone sung this song, I'll Be There
i aint never seen so meny inbread redneck GUBERS as you guys :Rofl
Our family trees goes straight up with no branches.
How about Rend Lake for spring camp. Great crappie lake and only a little over a hour south. Y'all need to cut your teeth on some buck brush fishing..lol. If you haven't done it you will ether love it or hate it. I'm sure we can find someone in the area to get things rolling. That being said. I call back seat first day in Scotty's boat..lol
I agree with Ken let's try some new water and meet some new folks! I also agree with Steve! And Pat!
And Wilbur!
Nothing against Rend, but people have already reserved rooms at shelbyville and we have entrainment lined up
REND is another hour or better and the lodging is expensive.
Gas prices are down. So being a hour or so south doesn't hold water. I don't know about the lodging at Rend but I would bet some of or southern brothers will chime in on this one. Were 6 months out so a change of plan won't hurt as bad. I am easy kept one plug in and a outhouse within sprinting distance and am in. Wilbur you'll just have to dig up another one of those coffee cans full of that moldy money you got buried in the back yard if you want running water..lol
I know Wilbur and i have a room already. Wilbur can't dig up no cans his backyard it's all cement.
They do make a thing called a jack hammer..lol. I'm sure someone can find some rooms for a fare price in the area.
Shelbyville for spring camp this year and then maybe rend for the Fall Get together. If that is all rightwith everyone.
Spring camp has already been decided on to have a Shelbyville, If someone want to do Fall camp at Rend that will be fine
Where is this Shelbyville you speak of, reckon some of you yanks would take me out to my boat????:dono
Irt would be my pleasure to take you out Rees and show you our lake but there is not many 3lb ers ever caught, but there is lots of fish.
If you have it in the fall you will miss the buck brush bite. That in it self is worth the trip. Illinois is a big state maybe we should have two spring camps. One for the north and south. That way if you can't make one you might be able to make the other or even better both... just saying.
I've never been to Rend, but with regards to Camp: We have some guys there local (or somewhat local) to Shelbyville that do one hell of a job organizing Camp for us. As far as I'm concerned, that has as much to do with it as the location of the camp itself. Hell, we know those organizers can't catch fish without poaching others' numbers, so they aren't having it at Shelbyville because of the fishing... As long as those poachers continue to organize the wonderful camps, I'll go wherever they want! If you move it, I hope the locals that organize it are as good as our poachers!!!!!
Well said Jeff
wilber is a guber
BB, you coming to spring camp to be with Wilbur ? :Rofl
Jeff if you haven't fished Rend you need to go in the spring for the spawn. The buck brush fishing can get exciting. With that being said everyone does a great job of putting things together at the north camp. I think we should give someone the opportunity to put on a great south camp if they what to do one. We've had no one chime in from that area yet so maybe there is no interest.
The spring camp has been decided to be at Shelbyville for 2015. I don't think that we should try and divide the CDC family into two fish camps for the May camp, there is always a fall camp or 2016 CDC camp, to split and divide the May camp is terribly wrong after the dates have been set, this means more donations for fishing gear that would be wrong to take advantage of these donors and company's that give. I myself have a room booked and has no bearing on why i'm writing this, things like this should be decided in the prior year and not before a upcoming camp where this may cause split and divide, remember we are family.
This is how this thread started..Ok guys it's that time to start planning the spring camp, the date I believe it is May 18-19 ? Sound off gents

This was the next reply..
Where is this Shelbyville you speak of
The last one is my favorite.. It sounds like the thread was started for planning a camp. Also If one is started in the south they would get there own sponsors in the area were the camp maybe. If the current sponsors want to donate to south camp they would be more than welcome. You got to remember Rend lake is always a week or two ahead of Shelbyville when the spawn rolls around. So one could hit both camps if he has the time to do so. If not pick the closet camp to your area. No one is trying to divide the original camp up. Illinois is a big state and this would let more people get to there camp of there choice or the best case scenario both.
He might own a motel there
Not trying to push the camp anywhere just trying to have another option if one wishes. No Wilbur I don't own any motel in that area. I wish I did then I could charge all gubers double..lol
