what is the solution for a pedestal pin that has a little too much play inside the pedestal base, where the chair wobbles just a little. can anything be wrapped on the pin of the pedestal to make it a more snug fit inside the pedestal base? thanks.

I have the same wobble. I am thinking of replacing the base.
You can replace the bushing in the base....GrizzlyJig has them both the brass ones and the nylon ones....the nylon ones last a lot longer than the brass ones in my opinion.
A new base is around 40 bucks the bushings are about 5 bucks.....something like that.
never seen a bushing in ours, g.
What type pedistall do you have duck? I am talking about the ones where the post has a 3/4 in. pin that sticks in a hole in the base....the base has a replaceable bushing that the post pin fits into.
mine is the same base, the only thing i can see from the top of the base is the round metal ring, looks to be built into the base. could not find the bushings on grizzly jig.
The round metal ring is the bushing'''''you have to remove the base and take a hammer and a punch and knock the bushing out from the other side.....that ring is the rim of the bushing. When the bushing wears.....the seat post starts rocking. The bushings are in the GrizzlyJig catalog......call them by phone to order them because they are not on the website.
thanks, g..........removing the base in my glass boat may be a problem, as its under the carpet..........will have to see.
Fer a quick temporary fix duck, you can take a punch or nail set and swell the inside of the bushing. Just put your punch right around the edge of the hole and whack it all around the edge. Most of the time they're gonna wear out at the top. This will work better than wrapping duct tape or electrical tape around the post because it is prolly not worn as much in the bottom.
Duck, can you knock it out without removing the base??
they may also be fastened in with machine screws and nuts also meaning you have to get to the nuts on the bottom side....on the aluminum boats they are usually just screwed in .....Wannabe should be able to advise you as he has worked on the bases on several different boats.
Neat, I didn't know the bases had replaceable bushings.
You might need one of the little bees with their skinny arms to help you

Hey guys, if anybody needs to replace a base be sure to check out Springfield marine web site, scratch and dent section. I ordered several styles to have here to check out the fit of my Dub-L-Seats. I ain't found anything wrong with them except may a scratch here or there and saved a small fortune on them, as in $6. each total cost!
thats good to know.....thanks Wayne
Ifn you can wack it out with a punch and wackum you ought to be able to pull it out with a puller.
If you have a slide hammer type puller you can snatch it right out. You can also wrap black tape around the end of a hack saw blade for a handle and then cut though the bushing full length on each side and then pull the bushing ut with some pliers or you can knock it on out into the bilge the new bushing goes in from the top side.
If you try the hacksaw blade trick...make sure you only cut yhrough the bushing and not into the steel sleeve that the bushing fits into. The bushing is about two and a half inches long....maybe two and thre quarters.
