well why dont you make em? bass tackle molds has a great mold. Im thinking about getting it. if you dont make your own baits, nows a great time to start. Its alot of fun
DonG, I make a few 2 inch solid body stinger baits. I do not have a 2 and a half inch. I will have a fish stinger mold by the end of mext week that is suppose to be 2.4 inches long. It should be a great bait. Here is a picture or two of what it will look like.
Here is another stinger I make that is 2 inch that is a great bait.
GCD, to be honest with you I have never paid attention really to the size of hooks I use. I just use all my stingrs basically on either the medium size or slightly larger size hooks that come with like the southern pro 1/16 oz plain round ball barbed jig heads. That is mostly all I use. Sorry I could not be of more help with that question
Thanks DonG. The body length on my grub stingers is 14/16th's of an inch. The tail is 1 and 2/16th's of an inch. Total length 2 inches.

I can mix and match whatever color combos with head b eing one color and tail being another color.
The reason it looks identical to mine is because I sent him the prototype to make that mold. Mine was just a tad hair different and he said he was just a little off on it. I told him that was for the better because I really liked the end product. He did a great job on it and I am happy with it. I love the 48 cavities.
god snake with all those colors you can mix and match and make THOUSANDS of different baits that baby bass one sounds cool
sulphur, I have not even used the baby bass color yet either
when you do use it tell me how good it works
we have many colors here that I haven't used yet. If you want to know the other side will have go to lure craft we have all of their colors now next week I guess including their power.
wow about about 115 colors together
snake, I still gotta order me that one color I like. However right now it is the only other one I really want and I hate paying shipping for one small item. I might have to wait on that one.
I like the Bass Tackle mold BassTackle.com - Your source for Premium tackle and molds. Its a 16 cav. if I cant fork out the cash then Ill get the 8 CAV The 48 would be awesome but I think would have to make monthly payments :D
your not a sport lol
snake, he said it took a long time to run that mold. Certain bait styles require harder cuts to be made. He said it took a long time to make that mold so that is one reason the cost is so high. He said the more he does of those type of molds, then the more efficient he will get. He said he hated to charge that much but said he is trying to find ways to be more efficient so he could go down on the prices. I hated to pay 350 for that mold, but I had one guy quote me as much as 4,000 for a mold like this and another guy quoted me 2,000. Needless to say i never contacted them again and cant remember now even who it was. Well he said 40 dollars per cavity, so if you do the math thats close to 2,000. I think the prices will come down a little bit in the future, but alot of it is dictated by how long it takes to do the program and how long it takes to cut the mold as well
I understand perfectly well and realized the cost factor and programming the computer's. it takes quite a while to set one up to cut that many cavities no I wouldn't mind paying that at all but we are debating right now wanted to get one or not we are, waiting on some other stuff to go through we are waiting for Jacob for one I'm sure that I would have plenty of interest in that mold. As you do it is a good looking plastic bait .have you tried to mess around with power paint with plastics we were thinking about dusting some of the cavities to see what it would do. Also we were thinking about putting some of the plastic colors on the cavities also so I have a lot of experimenting to do to find out how far I can go with this stuff. I haven't had time to do anything lately. But I hope to post some more pictures guys we do have some interesting color combinations that we would like to post. And of course with that many colors coming I can do a lot of experimenting.
are you talking about powder paints, if so, i have nto experimented with them. I am sort of afraid of experimenting with some stuff unless I know someone else has done it first. Never know of its dangerous or not. I did see some glitter glue that I thought might make some cool baits. The hobby stores have that glitter glue with the point tip that you could make shapes or whatever on the plastics with. you might could leave it just as it is or dip back in clear plastic for an overcoat. This might make some cool stuff. I saw some other things there i thought would be neat to try but cant remember now. Also I was thinking about the Christmas garland stuff. It would be like string glitter if you cut it small and you can get whole strands o that stuff real cheap, it is suppose to be flame retardent so it might hold up to the plasic heat. Could be a cool thing if it worked.
I've use powder paint in the plastic and it is kinda cool, but it only makes real basic color and its solid. I havent done alot of expierimenting with it but from what I can tail the plastic dye is the best route. I still hace a couple ideas for it. If I ever get time to do it ill let you know
was thinking about the garland stuff I mentioned and it might be a bad idea, if it is flame retardent or resistant, it might have metal in it. NOT good for microwave he he
you could use one of those mylar survival blankets
