Yes gentlemen, I had to go to school today, and I sat, like the good student, in class all day. Got home and me and Jennifer made it to the lake around 6:30. Didn't expect alot, but you can't catch no fish if you stay at home. So we went.
No no. We didn't catch a limit or even close to it, but she caught the biggest crappie that I've seen in a long time or maybe even forever. She lost two more that were as big or almost as big as her big one, and I caught a couple that we had to throw back. In roughly an hour and a half of fishing we caught four keepers (a better daily limit than ONE), lost two more fine fishes, caught two dinks, and a bass. NO DRUMS AT ALL!
Satdoc and Torch, we went back to the East side of Long Branch and fish there in about 2fow like ya'll said. We fished across the channel on both sides, letting the wind push us along. It was a little breezy, but probably about the right speed for trolling. We're going to go back out tomorrow morning, and I may end up out there all day...just depending on how the fish act.
Here are a few pictures of them. The first one, Jennifer looks like she's holding a monster, but the second one makes it look more realistic. The third one is just of the four that we kept. Her big fish was just under 16". We don't have scales so I can't give ya'll a weight. She was heavy and loaded with eggs. 3 of the 4 were females. I kinda felt bad for catching them. Ain't we killing the population catching all these females? I won't feel bad when we eat them though!
