    Default Thank You!

Just registered on crappie.com. Not a crappie fisherman but am in steady pusuit of bluegills and shellcrackers. Live in the Tallahasse area and fish Lake Talquin and the Oklochnee River. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts on here and am glad to be a part of this fraternity. Change that, I am proud to be associated with folks like you!!

Thanks tnjeff. While I love my panfish, I understand your state offers some excellent smallmouth fishing. I understand they will "jig your pole" and would love to experience that! Is Pickwick a "smalley" lake?

Thanks wrwest! Only true fishermen (and women) could appreciate this site. Tight lines and good fishing on the west coast!

rancrappie - Hardly any water in Jackson. As you may or may not know, approximately every 25 years a sinkhole would open up on the lake and it would drain but soon fill back up. After a long drought a few years ago, the sinhole opened up prematurely and the lake has struggled to keep water in it since. There may be a few holes to fish out of but not many. I flew over it a few months ago returning to Tallahassee and there wasn't much water at all. Sad because that was an excellent lake.

Welcome! Florida seems like a fishing haven to me first and last time I've been there... I'd be jobless and go fishing everyday :o

Hello Supra. It is tough sometimes but the necessity to earn fish bait money keeps me at work more than I want.
