I fished one of my quick trips today while the better half was having her hair visit .
The wind was blowing crazy , 12-20mph was what the weather app said . Seemed more like 20+ .
I fished off a railed dock with the wind from my right facing the bank and a.
Most of my casts were to my left and I would work my jig back into the wind .
Caught what I thought was a lull in the wind and tried a little flip cast toward the bank and a gust blew my jig into a stump .
Limited in time and using Ande 2# line , I wrapped the line around my hand and pulled, thinking it would break easily. The jig came loose and rocketed back toward me.
The jig hit the knuckle on my little finger on my left hand . More accurately, the 4mm tungsten bead hit my knuckle , the size 14 hook imbedded in the inside of my ring finger past the barb . Thank goodness the hook has a micro barb and I was able to pull it out .
The tungsten bead hit hard enough to break the skin on the knuckle and bled more than the hook point wound . I wonder if lead would have hit as hard ?
I ended up catching four small gills and a small redbreast.
I’m afraid The knuckle is going bother me for a few days . It’s starting to bruise .
It’s the wind’s fault ! LOL ! Who said fishing wasn’t a contact sport ! LOL!
