Default We should have fished nearby

I met up with my fishing buddy at our usual big reservoir today around noon .
The weatherman, again missed the wind prediction by about 15-20mph.
I don’t know what’s up with the wind the past few years it seems like .
I know it’s March , but one or two calm days a month isn’t a lot to ask for .

I was somewhat ready , armed with spoons , and spinners as well as an assortment of jigs .

Five of my thirteen fish were caught during the first twenty minutes after we arrived . The area we fished was below the highway that acted as a windbreak.
Nothing big was caught today by either of us .
I caught green sunfish , small bluegills and a couple small spotted bass.
Caught one of the bass on a spoon , the other on a micro spinner .
If I had concentrated on catching green sunfish my count would have been higher , but I was searching for gills and shellcrackers.
My buddy only caught three fish in the four hours we spent searching, fishing three different areas .
I think I could have have done better fishing the docks up the road from the house .
Always good to enjoy some gillchasing with my buddy .
The gills should be on the banks by now , also the crappie .
