    Default Pond or Docks ?

I’m fairly sure I could have caught more and probably bigger at the pond today , but I’ve been checking the docks for the gills to move back in .

I didn’t get the chance to check out the docks yesterday evening after catching a couple small bass just after noon .

The low temp last night was around fifty , so I was hoping if anything moved in yesterday stayed overnight.

Got to the docks around 11:30 , sunny and almost 70 . But with a gusty wind blowing straight in on the docks .
Since I planned on fishing the water between the dock and shore , the wind wouldn’t a big factor with it at my back .

I fished a little over an hour with a 5’ Major Craft Aji Do rod with a KastKing Zephyr SFS 1000 reel and 2# Floroclear . A size 12 , 3.8mm tungsten bead handtied jig in dark olive .
I used the KK SFS reel because after checking my distance casting experiment last year , the Spin Finesse System KastKing consistently casts farther than any of my other reels .
I also noticed the combo with the KK felt more sensitive. Probably from the graphite content of the reel frame and foot .

Ended up with four gills and a small bass .
If the overnight temperatures stay near fifty and above, I’ll be doubling that in a couple of weeks.
    Hopefully.

Nice. Temperature is starting to warm up. I just don’t want it dropping below freezing anymore.

That’s a good looking combo too. I see those reels on the sites and just don’t pull the trigger. Good to know the sensitivity doesn’t take a hit with the lower priced reels. I’m thinking that bass was near a handful.

Interesting reel choice. I've had my eye on the same one because of it's light weight and shallow spool. Will have to give it a shot if it goes on sale sometime.

Good call on the rod, btw. Clearly you are a gentleman of refined taste.
