    Default Saturday Spot Hopping

Forecast was mostly cloudy , low 70’ with a wind advisory until tomorrow morning.
Winds from 18-36mph today increasing tonight with heavy storms overnight with a front moving through.

I started off at Lake McIntosh, water was still high and heavily stained .
Wasted thirty minutes or so checking out a few spots . I don’t know why this lake is behind the others I fish with panfish moving near the banks , including the big reservoir where I meet my friend to fish .
This reservoir is about 800 acres , but isn’t as deep as lake Kedron, I fish , which is about 365 acres IIRC.

I left and went to the mill creek . Creek was stained and a little high , it didn’t take long to catch my first fish .
I caught nine in about an hour and a half throwing and swimming a micro spinner . Too much wind to be twitching a jig , although I did try for a little while .
The spinner was the most productive.
I fished a couple of combos today that are similar in action . Both are two piece rods with a lively tip. . A 5’6” St Croix Premier ULF and my new Lit a 5’6” UL . A KastKing SFS 1000 on the SC and a Daiwa Fuego 1000Lt on the Littma . Both with 2# Floroclear.
Both cast the micro spinner pretty good , about 40-50’ . Both also have a fun bend even with the little guys I enjoy catching when nothing else is cooperating.

I left the creek and drove to the docks at Kedron and fished for about thirty minutes. Catching ten little micro gills before picking up a nice salad to take home for our lunch today.
A fun way to end the trip .
I had to get use to keeping my rod hand still while retrieving the tiny spinner , I’m so use to twitching . Time to break out my spoons !
Nineteen total including bluegill , shellcracker, a redbreast and a shiner .

Beautiful pre-spring fish! What is that tiny spinner you were using?

    Got them off Amazon .
Search Dovesun Fly Fishing Lures . They’ll come up . I got size 14 . They’re the biggest size and are still tiny . .4g weight .
I use a barrel swivel about a foot above it . Adds a little casting weight plus keeps the twist out of the line .
I once caught a 5-6# LM bass with one . A fish catching little lure .

You did very well today. I see the weather moving through so you might get a couple of days of home time before things settle and the water clears up some. You also beat my golden shiner catches with the tiny shiner, he looked cool.no fishing for me for a little bit. Details on that in a few days. Had I gone today it would have ended pretty quick as the wind picked up to pretty stiff levels. Looking forward to my next trips .
