no clue
but to be sure it was a chore to figure it all out the old school way.
my wife and I needed a ketchn event , the day seemed perfect ....shorts and a t shirt weather and sunshine with a low south wind.
was around 80 ish when we rolled off , by the time we got there it was north wind blowing hard and the temperature dropping .....we were there just 2.5 hours and it was 50 when we left ......
we struggled bigtime for the first hour , we had 2 fish landed and lost one and only 4 bites between us .
The plan was to stick and move and we decided that even though the first spot is a known production line to ketch fish, it was time to move. On the way to spot 2 my wife hit another location while I got the truck. Well by golly she got her a jim dandy bluegill and it was in short water ,and before I could get over there, she said I got em figured out and up came a small bass.
I got there and sure enough a big bluegill for me in short water as well .....
5 or 6 fish in about 15 minutes was nice and then it was over ......
We saddled up and went to another spot that was sheltered from the north wind as it was beginning to be not much fun in the wind with the temperature dropping. Well, lt me just say this , we should have hit that third stop FIRST .....man oh man was it nice to get lots of bites, we stayed about another hour and hammered em pretty well. not many crappie and a few small bass , but the bluegills made up for it by being steady and right close to the bank as well.
closed the outing and hit the hotdog location on the way home and ketched around 35 or so ....
some of the bluegill were brutes and a few had the colors coming along well ....
Sure enough good times , until we ride again ....
KABOOM is the word
p.s. we used very small jigs with number 8 hooks , the number 6 stuff we started with was making life really complicatedwe ran our jigs about 2 foot under floats and tipped them with crappie nibbles .....and we let all the fish go .....
