    Default After the flood

Between yesterday and last night we had close to four inches of rain.
Except for the raised water table giving us septic issues, we came through the storms ok .
This morning it was sunny , low fifties , with a NW wind of 11-20mph .

When I got to the Town Pond this morning the I could see where the pond level had already dropped about a half a foot or more .
The rain left the normally fairly clear pond heavily stained . Not the chocolate milk I expected, but still pretty stained . About a foot of visibility.

I took my 6’6” St Croix Avid light ,paired with an old Shimano Stradic 1000 . The last model Stradic that came with an aluminum spare spool .
I had it spooled with 2# P-Line CXX Moss Green line .
Started off with a mini trout magnet, but switched to a regular size , but shortened regular black/chartreuse , thinking maybe a bigger profile would be better in the stained water.
It took switching spots three times in about thirty minutes to get the skunk off with a fun size gill . Four minutes later I caught my second gill .
Then I lost my jig and discovered I didn’t have another TM in that color with me .
I retied and picked out a chartreuse with black back .
It was thirty minutes later Whalen I caught a bass that I hooked in the nose . Sharp hooks work .
It was almost twenty minutes later I caught my final fish of the morning a smaller LM .
    Beats a skunk .

Good fish and another good trip. I’m ready for my axle to be ready so I can get back out.
