Default Cloudy , but not bad

Today’s forecast was 49 high , cloudy with a chance of rain .
At noon it was 47 , cloudy , but no rain , yet . But light winds .
Today , although cooler and no sun felt pleasant compared to the last two days .

I took two combos and decided to limit fishing with each to about forty-five minutes . First up was a 5’6” Daiwa Aird X ULF , paired with a Shimano Soare XR c2000sspg . Filled with P-Line CXX Moss Green 2# line . A good looking combo in my opinion.
I started using a 4.6mm tungsten bead jig with an orange Mini Trout Magnet that I colored the top black with a sharpie . Kinda looked like a Bison color .
I caught two small gills and a bass with the Aird X .

I walked back to the RAV4 and swapped out for the second combo .
A 5’ Daiwa Presso ULF , paired with a Kastking Zephyr SFS 1000 , filled with 2# Floroclear.
Another good looking combo in my opinion.
My Tungsten jig started with a black Mini Trout Magnet .
It took me about ten minutes of casting and was about to change the Mini Magnet color , when I got my best thump of the day . Several runs with the carbon drag sounding off and I still didn’t know what I had on . I thought it was going to be a shellcracker.
I was surprised to find a nice crappie on my line once I got it in close enough to see it .
I was able to beach it without breaking off my 2# line , I climbed down the bank and grabbed it by the mouth.
This is the second ever crappie I’ve ever caught out of the pond . I caught one last year .
I think this is the same crappie , only it has almost doubled in size since last year .
I returned it to grow some more.
I ended up with four bass , three bluegills, and the crappie on the Presso combo .
A nice outing today with eleven total .

The Presso not only outfished the Aird X in numbers , but I enjoyed fishing with it so much more . It is a good bit lighter weight and more sensitive than the Aird X in.
I guess that’s why it’s been sitting in a rod rack for a couple of years.m

It did sprinkle once , but the rain held off until I got home and then it’s been light .
