Hit the pond today with the intention of slip floating tubes and marabous but quickly abandoned that as my vision isn't great and prefer to feel the bite. I still watch my line but mostly wait for the thump. Caught a colorful gill on the tube but ended up casting the Power Nymph on a 1/32 jig head, which I was surprised how well it cast with 6 lb mono and no split shot above. I reeled in a 4'8" shakespeare excursion UL telescopic rod so I think I'll put a spinning reel on it with 4 lb test and will make casting the small jigs even easier, as well as bite detection. Caught 4 crappie and a bluegill slowly swimming the nymph, had to keep the last crappie cause he ate it so good I forgot my pliers and couldnt get the hook out
