    Default Berkley Power Nymph

Just wanted to share a good panfish bait, the Power Nymph. Paired with a slip float and 1/32 jig head and a loop knot, it sits perfectly level in the water, with the little tails seductively undulating. Top with a crappie nibble and this can be a deadly bait. I haven't tried casting but would probably be effective.

I cast lots of similar baits with good success. Float fishing is tough around here with all the branches and snags on the bottom.

I've used them in that color before and have caught a variety of fish on them. I use power wigglers to tip my jigs and it makes a big difference in my catch rates.

I haven't tried the power wigglers but 75 for $5 is a good deal

Here's one I caught years ago, beautiful yellow, purple and blue in the scales. I gotta get back to using this lure more

Hit the pond today with the intention of slip floating tubes and marabous but quickly abandoned that as my vision isn't great and prefer to feel the bite. I still watch my line but mostly wait for the thump. Caught a colorful gill on the tube but ended up casting the Power Nymph on a 1/32 jig head, which I was surprised how well it cast with 6 lb mono and no split shot above. I reeled in a 4'8" shakespeare excursion UL telescopic rod so I think I'll put a spinning reel on it with 4 lb test and will make casting the small jigs even easier, as well as bite detection. Caught 4 crappie and a bluegill slowly swimming the nymph, had to keep the last crappie cause he ate it so good I forgot my pliers and couldnt get the hook out

What? No pics of the free rod?

    Sounds like a good trip.

Here's the rod, put a Zebco slingshot reel on it. I gotta stock up on some 1/32 jig heads with #4 and #6 hooks for the baits I like to use. Just allows for a slower presentation this time of year

I have the mold for the Power Nymph and it is one of my favorite baits. I throw it with 2lb mono with a 1/64 jig head. It's a bluegill killer in black and crappie also love it.
Thanks Happyfisherman thanked you for this post
