I got to lake McIntosh a little after noon .
With the success with the flyrod at the creek , I decided to start off with it . I caught six small gills , one decent one and a decent redbreast.
Then I switched to my 5’ St Croix Avid ULF with a Shimano Soare SS 500spg and a 4mm tungsten bead micro jig , dark olive with a copper bead .
After catching a couple of gills at one of the few shaded spots around I decided to fish the spot where I had luck yesterday, that was located in direct sunlight , know I would only be to stand the heat maybe thirty minutes . It was in the low 90’s already .
That one little spot is a honey hole ! The water is shallow, but some reason attracts numbers of fish .
I caught nine of my biggest of the day out of that spot , in about twenty five minutes.
Some beautiful gills and a couple of shellcracker/bluegill hybrids that put a nice bend in the little St Croix and a smile on my face .
When I counted up my catches , I caught nineteen at the creek and nineteen at the lake .
But I had more bigger fish from the lake .
