Spoon, just like Gill said, us shore and bank wanderers don't have much option but try to go lighter. Watching the LRF guys in UK gave lots of idea going with just 3 most usable lures or jigs: Dropshot, jig heads, and Cheb. Since I haven't gotten the chance to fish for crappies, I don't know if the Russian-intro Cheburashka would work but it works for panfish just like jigheads would for me, while all would fit in an old 35mm film cannister.
