I only have experience with the old style #2 and #3. The #2 is tiny and hits the water very softly. You might also look at the hard foam strike indicators with the rubber tubing to lock line in place. If you get the hard foam ones, they have enough weight to them to cast even flies the distance you are looking for, as long as using ultralite gear. As stated, fly fishing gear would be best.
