The only lure design I would use with a steady retrieve would be #2 - curly tail grub, especially when rigged on a Beetle Spin:



The others when using a light ball head jig are paused, let drop, pull forward with rod tip, repeat after reeling in slack. The Kut Tail, short Slider Worm and Flip Tail Worm and no-tail grubs do well with that retrieve.

The wacky rigged mini-sticks shown use more of a vertical presentation and are either twitched in place or allowed to freely drop to the bottom.
