Should be soon.
Went scouting on Nickajack the other day. Bluegill are very scattered. Did manage a few with a nice shellcracker in the mix and and a beautiful redbreast. As eagle1 had stated in his post I too had to deal with the largemouth. Only had 6 sunfish but had 15 bass most of them between 15-18 inches. While a lot of fun on the UL and 2.1# test line..... just not what I wanted to get into. Now we are dealing with the weather.....just a lot of wind. So hoping maybe this weekend I can hit it again. I came home and did a little reading about redbreast. This is only the second year I have fished Nickajack for bluegill......been fishing it for crappie for years....thus only been fishing for rebreast for those 2 years as they are not in the other lakes I fish. I was surprised to read that the redbreast prefer the water a little warmer to bed than the northern strain bluegill. Many articles state they spawn from very late May through July. Which explains why I found bedding redbreast last June-July. Always something to learn.
Regards
