    Default Should be soon.

Went scouting on Nickajack the other day. Bluegill are very scattered. Did manage a few with a nice shellcracker in the mix and and a beautiful redbreast. As eagle1 had stated in his post I too had to deal with the largemouth. Only had 6 sunfish but had 15 bass most of them between 15-18 inches. While a lot of fun on the UL and 2.1# test line..... just not what I wanted to get into. Now we are dealing with the weather.....just a lot of wind. So hoping maybe this weekend I can hit it again. I came home and did a little reading about redbreast. This is only the second year I have fished Nickajack for bluegill......been fishing it for crappie for years....thus only been fishing for rebreast for those 2 years as they are not in the other lakes I fish. I was surprised to read that the redbreast prefer the water a little warmer to bed than the northern strain bluegill. Many articles state they spawn from very late May through July. Which explains why I found bedding redbreast last June-July. Always something to learn.

If last year's video is any indication, it's right around the corner on those redear!! Good luck!

I'm hoping Barkley fires up. Went yesterday morning and caught one nice redear and that was basically it.

A nice mixed Sack of Sunfish. I wish we had more Shellcrackers up here, I run across a few every year but nothing in numbers. We experienced three straight days of 80+ degree temps this week so the first waves should start coming in shallow. I am going to try for some Bluegill this weekend also if the rain holds off.
