Thread: Bait pump...

The price is around $15.00. They are very well made and work great. If you use the crappie nibbles it will make them go much futher than just hooking them on. You won't be throwing it away but if you do I hope it lands in my boat......lol.

Mailman just brought mine, looks great. The only thing I do not like is no cap over the end-looks like it would dry out easily. I put a 1.5 inch tube on mine.

Hey, that's not a bad idea. Wonder how it would work to dip the end in that Plasti-cote stuff for plyers and other tool handles? think that would form a good cap for the end of that Bait Pump?
Or a tube jig with the tassels cut off should do it...:D

I have a bait pump and it is a well made product...only issue I have with it is using or should I say trying to use it with the micro tubes....larger sized jigs it works great ...any input from people that have one of these will be appreciated...

Here is what I want to try and maybe someone 3else can try it before I can and tell me if it works. I am overseas right now in afghanistan that is why I can't try it. When my younger kids get medicine from the doctor they give me this syrnge looking thing that holds about 5 ml I think it is. It is for putting there liquid medicine in and just putting it in there mouths and squirting it in. It is easier for a small kid then a spoon. Anyways I know the nibbles will fit in one and I am guessing it will hold about 20-30 nibbles at a time. I f someone knows what I am talking about and can give it a try let us know if it works.

I went to the local feed store and bought the largest needle they had (turkey, $2.50) and a 40 cent syringe. This should work great with paste on my small tubes!

What you are referring to, is an "oral syringe" ... different from a "shot" - intravenous syringe, in that it has no threads on the nozzle (for attaching the needle hub).
They would probably work fine with paste, but it may be a bit difficult to extrude a "Nibble" thru one. I've got Nibbles, and access to the oral syringes ... so I'll test it for you. I'll get back to you, on the results, by the middle of next week. ...... cp
