Default Anyone fished with the trout magnets Panfish kit?

Trout Magnets have a panfish kit that has a bunch of new colors Ive never fished with before. I was just wondering if anyone else has used these lures. The purple and pink combo looks great and so does the black and gold. Nothing beats the black and green combo. On a slow day the 1/64 oz trout magnet in black and green will catch just about anything in the lake and is deadly on the bream.

I've just been using the plain black. I have a bunch of other colors, but black works so well, I never get around to using the others.

Are you guys using them as is, or tipping with bait or crappie nibbles? I tried some Trout Magnets (including the black and green) untipped early season without success when I was able to catch a few on marabou jigs below a float.

Where can you buy them, or do they just sell online?

Walmart carries them. I think Bass Pro does, too. You can also order them online from Leland's Lures. Just Google "trout magnet", and you'll find the site.

I started off tipping with a waxworm. Then, I started using them plain and caught just as many fish.

You can shad dart jig heads, they are the same thing.

I like the jig heads they sell at Trout Magnet. They really go well with the trout magnets. Started using them this spring for panfish and was amazed. There were times when I dropped in a foot or so of water when I was messing with my line and still got hits. They have a winner.

I helped select the colors for that kit. The dark colors work best for Gills. The "Purple Redemption" was not out at the time but it is a very good color. I have never had to tip the Trout Magnet with anything. It is one deadly Bluegill bait. While the hook could be sharper on their head it is balanced for the Trout Magnet body to fall more horizontally and slower than with another jig head hook. I have tried 1/64 shad dart heads with a sickle hook but it throws the balance off and when the Gills are not that aggressive the bite slows way down. IMHO it is the best Gill bait out there.

Hello, first post to the group. Within the past year a black/chartruse magnet has become my go to bait. It is a versatile bait and with the right set-up can easily be fished in 20ft of water with a 1/24oz head.
