Thinner line, bigger reel spool. Both will help with casting distance.

maybe a balsa wood float ?
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
I think you will get more bites if you use lighter line. If you look at the guys who post a lot (Alphahawk, LedHed, Illinois Giller), they use 2# a lot and maybe some 4#.
I use nothing higher than 4#, and the 4 is use is a "true 4", in that it's diameter is about .17 mm.
The 6# you're using is probably closer to 8 or 9# in actual strength.
I used to use 6 lb. test went to 4lb. stren this spring . No breaks yet .are your rods light or ultra-lite ? How much line you got out prior to casting ? try adding a little more .
light action rods never paid much attenion to how much line I have out. I have always used slip floaters but with the light jig the bait will not sink
I use 5'6"ul and 4lb Trilene XL and have no issues with 1/48oz and up. Takes some doing to get 30' with 1/64oz.
I have been catching these for past couple of weeks on SOS 2# test. It has tested out with IGFA one time at 2# test and another time at 3# test. It probably should be labeled 3# test...as disco said all US lines are under rated on break strength. I cast a 1/64 ounce with this line quite well. When windy I will add a size B split shot above the jig about 18 inches.

always position the boat to cast with the wind. It's pretty much that simple...any other way is just trouble. You can't throw directly into the wind effectively, good way to end up with loops in the spool. Even with a crosswind too much bow in the line to work it as effectively. I just intentionally select the spots and position my boat to do so. Of course you will make a few cast during the course of the day in all directions but I want the majority going with the wind. Select a solid body jig with a spear shape or tear drop shape for those days. Also use 1/16 ounce more on those days, especially if the fish are deeper than say three feet. I did however use a 1/16 oz head casting into two feet of water Saturday and the fish were so aggressive they did not care. Some were grabbing it before it could hit bottom. I also use my braided line more on super windy days. Reel magic on the line also increases distance braid or mono.
wind makes holding boat on brush difficult . Even with 6 lb. stren ,casting a 1/32 is not a problem with a 6 1/2 ultra- lite okuma , or the 7 ft. browning air stream . Are you in a boat most days ? I would position the boat to cast with the wind .Any wind that would hinder the casting of a 1/32 would put me at the house . also I have used 1/100 oz. jigs but put a #3 split shot 8-10 inches above jig .1/100 and 1/80 are difficult to cast but can single pole them (dead stick). you could rig it to dead stick then add cork .
