I think you will get more bites if you use lighter line. If you look at the guys who post a lot (Alphahawk, LedHed, Illinois Giller), they use 2# a lot and maybe some 4#.

I use nothing higher than 4#, and the 4 is use is a "true 4", in that it's diameter is about .17 mm.

The 6# you're using is probably closer to 8 or 9# in actual strength.
