1/16 oz or 1/32 oz ball head jigs with #4, 6, or 8 hook depending on grub body length.
If fishing shallow - 1/32; if fishing deeper - 1/16.
Curl tails are okay, but note the straight thin tails and prong tails in the pictures. With those tails you can move the lure ever so slowly and the tail quiver gets everything that swims excited.
4 or 6# test more than adequate to allow best lure action and less line bow. Mono is fine.
Light action rod a must !
Fan cast around the boat or from shore and move until you find concentrations - lures are the best search baits on the planet.
Slow with rod twitches or pauses in the retrieve can not be emphasized enough!
