Better to light up and use glow baits.
Even without, though, the fish usually see well enough after dark that the decreased ability to watch for light pickups is more important. If you live where artificial lighting is legal, use that and hi vis line. Not only can you see better, but the light brings in forage and that draws what eats it. It pays to be careful about where your shadow ends up on the water.
The lit floats help too, if floats work for you, but most them available are too big to suit me for panfish, and by comparison they and the batteries they use are an additional expense. None of them are cheap.
