just set that rod down and use one with a smaller bait on it
That's a good point. Fish of any species and any size (even fingerlings) will hit different sizes and designs, sometimes only within a group of either. Ice fishing one year I started with spikes and a spoon. Come to find out, crappie were schooled beneath us and hit 2 3/4 in. tubes - almost 1/2" in diameter. Even the smallest fish sometimes are aggressive enough to hit larger plastics. So much fun to discover which!! Thumbs Up
