    Default Little Skunk

Anyone ever heard of or used a small jig type lure called the Little Skunk. It came tied onto a leader that you attached to your line and could cast and retrieve or could be fished under a bobber. We used them when I was a kid, 45 years ago in Virginia, and they were a killer lure for bream. I'd like to use some again just for the memories of old times and old fishing buddies long gone.

I used something like that years ago and it was called a little stinker, it had a picture of a little skunk on the pack. I sure would like to find some of them now but they don't sell them around here no more. killer lure for pan fish.

Lisk Lures is the company that makes them and they are still in business I believe in North Carolina. I have made my own style of this lure in the past and have had good luck with them.

Thumbs up Yep, used them ....

... and still have some :D

They were made by Lisk Lures - The Little Skunk & The Polecat were the two I remember using. The "Polecat" has a flattened body, that wobbles like a spoon ... while the "Little Skunk" has a round, tubular body, that tracks like a jig (no wobble).

The inventor, L. E. Lisk, Jr ... died in 2009 (preceeded by his wife, in 2002): Spirited inventor's brain kept him busy : News-Record.com : Greensboro & the Triad's most trusted source for local news and analysis

Now for the good news : The Little Skunk is still being made !! Nothead Little Skunks
However, the link does not quote prices or have a shopping cart link, so I guess you'll have to call/email/snailmail them :o

I remembered posting about another, similar lure .... the "No-Name" lure, and did a search. A member by the name of Tom Weaver, who only posted once, said his company bought the Little Skunk rights & are attempting to reproduce them as close to the original as possible. His post is the last one in this thread : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-...name-jigs.html

Pap, i have a friend that made a few of those for me to try, a couple years ago. He sells jigs to a lot of guys on this site. Bob Voyda from Ohio, better known as grandpabob. I caught some fish with them but they were trouble fishing the blowdowns. I dont think he's a sponsor on the site.

Yep, Lisk Lures, they are killer. Tie it to a rainbow float casting bubble and get ready. They catch fish. Also, tip with a wax worm or artificial.

What, no pictures of the hand tied versions? I know the originals would be protected but I have no idea what these look like, and they're interesting.

Went to the site, interesting concept.

They look to me like you could use a shad dart and put the tag hook on it. Or use a larva jig to do the same.
