    Default who uses bettle spins?

How many people use beetle spins? I haven't used them for years, But I just bought a few to try out again. Was wondering how everybody fishes them? I just cast and slow reel back sometimes stopping and letting bait fall to the bottom then reeling back up.

    Default Good lures

I have used them for years. Probably have 10 in my box right now. Slow retrieve, stop and start, even the countdown method. Some times I tip them with, worms. mousies or grubs, sometimes minnows. The nice part is that you can re-use the harnes, put new colors on or even the glow in the dark. Whatever works.

Love em since I saw them on Virgil Wards Championship fishing Show!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so I'm showing my age LOL I use them from 1/32 up to 1/4 oz., I make my own jigs and V spinner frames so that saves me money also. Haven't gotten the bug for pouring plastics as I'm not that artistic.

I'm like everyone else, always looking for the bodies and a member here made me 50 each in two colors, their from the old style molds with 1 flat side but if you rig them right the rounded side is underneath.

Slow roll, steady retreive, drop and jerk, reel and drop keep trying till you figure out which one they want.

Caught lots of gills and small bass on them. Excellent "search" bait.

Been there and done that myself, hit the water most of the time though lol. Great spring time bait, really like em in off colored water with a gold blade if you can find them.

The "real" Beetle Spin was made by Bass Buster in the 60's. I use to order them direct by the card. I have caught more different types of fish on the Beetle than other lure. A "good" beetle has a larger (white) eye than the beetles made today. 1/32nd oz. Tip: Fish the Beetle slow, and I mean slow, very slow, just enough to flip the blade and always keep "count". I count and leave the Beetle hit bottom. On the retrive I count to get my depth where the fish hits and is suspended. Remember the count and on the cast, count to that number b4 retrieving. 4lb test on a 5 ft. fiberglas(if u can still find a soft rod) is the best. Even tho I mostly fly fish now for everything, I still carry a ultra lite with a Beetle to speed-up my locating the fish b4 I use the flyrod.
