The "real" Beetle Spin was made by Bass Buster in the 60's. I use to order them direct by the card. I have caught more different types of fish on the Beetle than other lure. A "good" beetle has a larger (white) eye than the beetles made today. 1/32nd oz. Tip: Fish the Beetle slow, and I mean slow, very slow, just enough to flip the blade and always keep "count". I count and leave the Beetle hit bottom. On the retrive I count to get my depth where the fish hits and is suspended. Remember the count and on the cast, count to that number b4 retrieving. 4lb test on a 5 ft. fiberglas(if u can still find a soft rod) is the best. Even tho I mostly fly fish now for everything, I still carry a ultra lite with a Beetle to speed-up my locating the fish b4 I use the flyrod.
