I see a large concensus that are impressed with the St. Croix spinning rods in ML weight. If I had to buy one today, this would be my choice. They're offered in several different price ranges from $70.00 to $240,and the reviews point to the least expensive being the best buy.

I've been finding a few new St. Croix Avid's lately for around $100 bucks. Kind of spendy, but the lifetime warranty makes them well worth the price.

Are you sure they're Avids? St. Croix Premier's sell for $99. Avids typically sell in the $170-200 range.

If they are Avids, $100 is an incredible deal!
