I fish only ultralight spinning gear for these fish and would like to expand on what I know and how I fish for these species in particular the redears. I can see where the long rods could be great for jiggin' brush and lilies but wonder how sensitive they are.
I've got 2 of the b n m sharpshooters in 5 1/2 ft.They're designed for dockshooting so they have just enough backbone to them for firing jigs under docks and boathouses.I've got a pflueger 7630 reel on each of them.I used them back in the spring on bluegill/redear/shellcracker beds and man what a blast.Most comfortable setup I've ever had in my hand for that kinda fishing.Pretty sensitive little rod you don't have any trouble feeling that "thump" when a crappie hits a jig some 20 ft. or so under a boathouse.
