Not sure how the sinking timbre got started in here but I tried it and it didn't work either but what does work is tying onto a water logged tree on the shore with a rope and towing it out.

I did that about a month ago and I check it everytime I go out and there ain't been no crappie on it so I'm thinking it's also about where you put it too.

Where gonna set a small camp this Saturday night.

I have shoreline property here on Lake Eufaula and if someone wants to camp on my property within Corp controlled area, there is nothing I can do about it as long as they don't cause problems. Personally, I have enjoyed seeing a family pull up in their boat, anchor down and use the beach for a swimming area for their kids. If they wanted to set up a tent, build a camp-fire and spend the night, I wouldn't mind at all.

I also own "near" shoreline property at Eufaula but I been trying to sell it. Eufaula is just too far to drive for weekend fishing adventures.

I don't even know if I'd waste my time sinking brush at Gibson. A ton flooded timber, lay downs and what not in there. Not to mention most likely the brush you do put out would get washed away from the current.

I was told by a Corps gate attendant the annual pass also included the use of a non occupied campsite to clean fish, picnic etc. as long as it was not an overnight stay and all trash etc. was cleaned up prior to leaving the campsite. I have seen a lot of people using the campsites after they came off the lake to clean their fish and then take them back to the lake to discard the remains but I don't see this in the Corps regulations.
